The Sheriff's FAQ still refers to a JailTracker lookup, but the specific current-inmate notice is more detailed and should control. A public user should call the Sheriff's Office for current custody status instead of assuming an online roster is live.
The scam warning is important. The Sheriff's notice describes people using inmate-list information to contact relatives, claim they can arrange release through a bond fee or ankle monitor, demand money up front, and then stop contact. White County says release occurs only through bond by an approved bonding company, property bond, a judge's order, or the Sheriff. Bond information should be verified at the Sheriff's Office before any payment is made.

How to Check White County Inmates

The research did not locate a viewable official White County inmate profile, so fields such as mugshot, housing unit, booking number, bond amount, and projected release should not be described as visible on a current public county page. White County Jail Facility
The Sheriff's Office and jail are physically separate from the courthouse offices on South Main Street. Jail custody, bond verification, inmate services, commissary, mail, and visitation questions route to the Sheriff's Office at Hulsey Road. Court records, case dispositions, probation-related filings, and certified court copies route to court offices instead. Keeping those offices separate prevents delays and wrong-form submissions.

White County Jail Visitation
White County Jail visitation is appointment-based. The Sheriff's FAQ says to call the Inmate Services direct line for an appointment. Scheduling calls are taken Monday through Thursday during regular daytime hours and Friday until noon. A visitor must be approved, and the FAQ says one visitor per week is allowed. The published visitation window is Saturday.

White County Inmate Mail and Funds
Mail rules are narrow. The Sheriff's FAQ says postcards only, in original state, written in blue or black ink. Inmates may receive four pictures up to 3 x 5, with no nudity or inappropriate content. Pictures may be sent in an envelope marked photos enclosed, but no other correspondence can be inside. Legal mail is accepted. Care packages are not accepted, and clothing needs must be handled through store call.
Money and phone services are split. Paytel is used for phone accounts. JailATM is used for commissary accounts. Money orders may be mailed to the inmate at the jail address with the inmate's name and "Inmate Account" on the envelope, and the purchaser signature is required. A lobby kiosk can fund phone and commissary accounts. Inmates can move money from commissary to phone accounts, but not from phone accounts to commissary accounts.

VINE can support notification needs, but it does not replace direct White County jail confirmation when the roster is offline.
White County Inmate Bond
Bond questions should be handled with care because of the local scam warning. White County identifies three bond paths in the Sheriff's FAQ: property bond, cash bond, and bonding companies. Property used for bond must be in White County, must be two times the amount of the bond, must have taxes paid in full and current, and must be approved by the Sheriff. A cash bond is the amount set on the citation. Bonding-company contact information is listed in the FAQ, but any request for money should be verified through official channels before payment.
The Sheriff's FAQ also lists criminal history rules. A local criminal history requires a consent form signed in person, a copy of the driver's license, and a $10 exact-cash fee during the posted weekday window. That criminal-history service is not the same thing as a current inmate roster or arrest report.
Important: Verify bond at the Sheriff's Office before paying anyone who claims they can arrange release by phone or online.
State and Federal Inmate Records
A person who is no longer in White County jail may appear in a different system. The Georgia Department of Corrections offender search is for sentenced state offenders. It is not a pretrial county jail roster and should not be used to check every recent arrest. Federal custody is separate again. The BOP inmate locator is the federal tool for federal inmates and is not controlled by White County, the Clerk of Court, or the Sheriff's Office.
The Federal Bureau of Prisons inmate locator applies only when federal custody may be involved.
Using BOP only for federal custody prevents confusion with White County jail and Georgia state-prison records.
White County Sex Offender Records
Sex offender registry records are not the same as inmate records. The White County Sheriff's Office sex-offender page points users to the state registry. GBI says it is the central repository for Georgia's sex offender registry under O.C.G.A. 42-1-12. Registry entries can include name, photo, address, offense, conviction or jurisdiction details, physical descriptors, and compliance information, but those records should not be treated as proof that a person is currently in White County jail.
The White County sex-offender page is the local handoff to the state registry.
That state-registry path is useful for public safety searches, but it is separate from custody and jail roster checks.
